The Journal, known as Notes in the Japanese version, is a special menu in Resident Evil Village.

Diary

Main article: Diary

The diary tells the story of the game, it gets updated as the game is played. On NG+, the diary will be reset.

Files

The files can be viewed at any point in this menu, when playing NG+, the list will not be reset.

In some situations a file will not be saved in this menu, as is the case with Our Happy Family.

The recipes the player can purchase from The Duke can be viewed here, it shows the ingredients needed and the upgrade the item gives.

Tutorials

The tutorials can be viewed here once the player reaches certain points of the game, the list will not reset on NG+.
