(Capcom's primary storyline)
ARK was Oswell E. Spencer's private laboratory for the Umbrella Corporation situated beneath Raccoon City. Its purpose was to advance research into mind transfer and to house Elpis, an antiviral drug that was rumored to be Spencer's final virus. The facility is monitored and managed by an AI system called NO-AH.
The Connections seized ARK during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident and continued to use ARK up until its destruction 28 years later.[1] The Connections focused on the development and research of the mutated strain of the T-Virus,[2] in addition to cataloguing and selling its BOWs.[3][4] During its occupation, ARK became a key bioweapon production hub in North America.[2]The BSAA has attempted to seize the facility but failed due to the powerful BOWs presence there.
Due to Elpis being sealed by an ultra-level encrypted password in Pandora computer system, the hackers of the Connections have failed to access to Elpis for many years without risking activating the self-destruct sequences of the ARK.
